As the RICS awards season approaches, careyjones chapmantolcher projects have been shortlisted in the East Midlands Infrastructure category and Yorkshire & Humber Design through Innovation category.

Northampton Castle Station heads up our shortlisting for the Infrastructure Award, having already been Commended in the ICE East Midlands Awards in 2015. The £20m new build train station forms provides a welcoming, fresh gateway to Northampton and is a catalyst for further regeneration for the town. It replaces the long standing former station building which was in need of a major upgrade.

The building comprises of a new ticket hall and passenger facilities in a spacious modern concourse and the building incorporates heritage interpretation and signage to recognise the importance of the former castle site.

Having had Wakefield Westgate Station Highly Commended at the RICS Awards last year, we are eager to find out if we can top that with Northampton Castle Station this year!

The striking MSCP for the University of Leeds is proving to be popular, with RICS shortlisting this project in the Design through Innovation category.

The use of innovative open source software such as Rhino & Grasshopper3D enhanced our capabilities, resulting in a design which sets a precedent for car park design with the unique cladding and night time illumination.

The MSCP sits comfortably next to the EC Stoner Building forming a gateway through the campus and into the city centre and unlocks a number of potential development sites around the university’s southern campus.
