Construction work on Standard Chartered Bank’s new HQ building in Accra, Ghana is progressing well. The structure is complete, and façade glazing and parking level cladding panels are almost fully installed. The architectural and interior design, both by Carey Jones Chapman Tolcher, have been implemented by a local architect in Ghana, and throughout the construction process CJCT has maintained a continuous overview of the project, which closely reflects the original designs as a result, both in appearance and quality.
The building comprises 8 levels of office space in addition to a ground floor reception and bank retail branch, set above 5 levels of parking. SCB will occupy the top five office floors, and the CJCT interiors team have designed these areas, including space planning and bespoke joinery elements. Work has progressed well enough that it was possible to review and approve a mock up office space during a recent site visit.
The project is due for completion in mid 2018.
