Chris Boyce comes to CJCT following a career in big practice, starting out at Sir James Stirling, Michael Wilford and Partners, before Aedas and finally at Capita where he was a board-level Design Director.
He led his Capita team to an RIBA National Award (for St Silas School AJ 13.06.13/ 29.11.12), RIBA Regional Award and two Civic Trust Awards as well as numerous further accolades between 2010 and 2015. Chris has been an RIBA judge and speaks on matters of practice and design.
Trained at the Glasgow School of Art and the Bartlett Chris remains involved in education as visiting critic for Manchester School of Architecture, Sheffield and the Royal College of Art.
Chris has a fantastic track record in many sectors, both private and public, including education, workplace/commercial, master planning mixed use and civic projects. He has always been a designer at heart, often working with clients directly on pen and paper to develop ideas, but is highly commercially aware. Chris prides himself on the depth of knowledge and practical application of these skills. He fosters a close and innovative working relationship with his clients from educators to developers.
Chris has a varied role across both Leeds and London studios as our Design Director. He is a father of four and has a passion for cooking, art and good food.
