Project Description

Dakota Hotel, a brand by hotel entrepreneur, Ken McCulloch, is located to the east of Edinburgh city centre at a highly prominent position on the southern approach to the Forth Road Bridge.  The hotel forms a catalyst for regeneration of the area, located at the heart of a major mixed-use scheme by Evans of Leeds.
The 62,000 sqft hotel has a very strong rectilinear form, clad almost entirely in polished black ceramic granite and heavily tinted curtain walling, which reflects the strong brand identity of Dakota. Internally, the hotel has 132 bedrooms, bar, brasserie, gym and meeting rooms.
The hotel has enjoyed high occupancy rates since its completion and has already become a landmark for visitors to the area and those crossing the adjacent Firth of Forth.
