CJCT were appointed to develop the “Vision for Riseholme” – a strategic study to explore how the Lincoln University’s Riseholme Campus might form the nucleus of a new mixed-use community.
Through close consultation with the University, in order to understand their strategic plan and specific ambitions for the site, CJCT were able to produce a document which achieves a strategy for the campus and highlights the important bond between university, economy and community. Presented to West Lindsey District Council to highlight Riseholme’s vast potential, the document has ensured that the vision is included in the Council’s ten year strategic plan and sets the scene for detailed work between the local authority and key stakeholders to develop a joint vision.
Produced with the input of specialist consultants including Drivers Jonas, URS, Oxford Archaeology, fpcr, Beyond Green and Boreham Consulting Engineers, the Masterplan creates an exemplar sustainable village, the first of its kind in Britain, which enhances the social and economic prosperity of the city and surrounding areas.
In close consultation with with Lincoln City Council and the University of Lincoln, CJCT were also appointed to produce a RIBA Stage C/D Student Accommodation Masterplan. The plan balances the needs of the University and the local community and creates opportunities for economic development. The site, comprised of student housing totalling 1000 bed spaces, a hotel, MSCP, offices, residential apartments and an innovation centre for research and development/light industry.
CJCT’s overall appointment included strategic development of the masterplan, design team co-ordination, and 3D computer massing models, illustrating the integration of the site within the much wider context of Lincoln.
