The new municipal offices are situated on a brownfield site at heart of the Rotherham Renaissance Plan. Located in a high risk flood area the building has been raised, incorporates flood attenuation tanks (which also provides parking facilities) and features a landscaped roof terrace with rainwater harvesting to minimise flood risk.
To encourage integration of the council into the local community, the building also features public functions on its frontage, with a cafe, gallery and marriage facilities provided. A new public square and public realm works extend along the riverside and throughout the Renaissance master plan.
Our interiors team worked directly for Rotherham MBC to facilitate the amalgamation of its various departments into the new headquarters.
