Project Description

Architecture
The Griffon is a Post-Graduate student accommodation scheme in Clapham Junction, London designed to be occupied by Imperial College London. The scheme comprises 452 studio apartments over 2 blocks and has set a new standard for student accommodation.
The development is linked by a single storey structure, housing the main entrance lobby and common areas all of which have been designed to enhance the student experience.

Interior
Working closely with Imperial College London and Berkley First, Carey Jones Chapman Tolcher have set a new standard for student accommodation interiors for The Griffon – a student accommodation scheme in London.
Our interior design team carefully tested a series of full size mock ups before finalising the flexible live / working scheme. From the state of the art slate and timber entrance through to the en-suite studio bedrooms the design has been carefully selected to enhance the student experience. The common room, for example includes bespoke ‘booths’ for students to study, relax or watch TV. The space has been created to work for a range of uses – from a film night to a table tennis competition
