Sustainability has always been at the top of our agenda. We were the very first architectural practice in the UK to gain joint accreditation under ISO:14001 and ISO:9001 and delivered our first BREEAM Excellent office building as early as 1995. We take a holistic approach to monitoring and managing sustainability in our environment and there are specifically two key elements to our Environmental Management Systems which focus on significant aspects, i.e. parameters we can control.
We review our performance and environmental targets annually and aim to achieve a year-on-year improvement, fostering an atmosphere of eco-consciousness within our design environment. Setting a consciously sustainable context supports the second element of our Environmental Management systems: the active promotion of environmentally friendly solutions to our clients to be implemented across their projects.
Spreading our expertise and influencing many projects allows us in our key role as lead designer to have a larger impact in the construction industry and built environment.
Within this context, our specific sector knowledge and expertise helps our clients to take informed decisions at key project stages, taking into account different procurement routes. In the project realisation, life-cycle cost need to be factored in, just as much as financing models and the timing of cost and returns to hold meaningful discussions which lead to good decision making.
