Alex Burnie

Alex is a motivated designer and architect with experience in both the design and delivery of projects across a range of sectors.

Alex began his architectural development and Part I education at Liverpool University where he gained confident design, presentation and model making skills. Upon the completion of his degree he stayed in the city and went on to work for John McCall Architects where he was able to expand his architectural experience through work on a range of residential and mixed use projects.

Alex first joined CJCT in 2013 and quickly proved his ability to thrive in a busy and fast paced environment. He was an important member of the teams who worked on the planning applications for Greenwich Peninsula and Queenshurst, whilst also providing competent technical work on Tileman House. After spending a year with the practice he returned to education to complete his Part II studies at Newcastle University, establishing an interest in the social and economic issues surrounding architecture in post war Europe.

Alex returned to the practice in 2016 and qualified as an architect in 2018. During this time and over the subsequent years he has grown to become a key part of the company and played a leading role in working towards the planning applications for MU2 and 140 Wales Farm Road, as well as the construction of Burdett Road.

Outside of the office much of Alex’s time revolves around sport and he regularly competes in football, cycling and running events.
