CJCT have been commissioned by Imperial College London to create a high quality student accommodation development for Plot A that builds on the character of the emerging masterplan and enhances the wider area by providing an important cornerstone and site entry point into the Imperial College London White City Campus North masterplan.
Working closely with H&F design officers, CJCT have designed a stepped massing design that increases the scale of a previous planning approval on the site and enables the transition from small scale terraced streets to a major science campus, stepping from 3 storeys to 12 storeys.
The project is a milestone for our client as it is the last building plot of ICL’s masterplan and provides 216 student studio bedrooms to complement the academic facilities within the White City Innovation District.
Internal and external amenity space is provided through communal spaces at first floor level as well as study rooms on the top three levels, complemented by an external roof terrace on the 10th floor. At ground level the scheme connects the campus and community with flexible commercial spaces at street level.
