The final phase of The Junction has now been handed over to Native Residential and the Monk Bridge high line landscape is now fully open!
Starting on site in early 2020 with Galliford Try taking the project on as the pandemic began to close in; the resilience shown by all members of the design and construction teams have been entirely worthwhile. The 665 new BtR homes spread across five buildings are all anchored to the Grade II listed Monk Bridge viaduct, now reimagined as Yorkshire’s first green pedestrian high line linking back over the canal and river into the city centre. The project is testament to City Developments Limited’s commitment to a unique but difficult, landlocked site and their patience in finding the right innovative solution to bring the scheme forward.
The Junction is the catalyst for development in this part of Leeds and once the sixteen viaduct arches are filled with commercial uses, alongside adjacent Carey Jones Chapman Tolcher (CJCT) projects on the Latitude sites, this area will become a vibrant, active and essential part of the city.
