Continuing the week with more awards shortlistings, we’re proud to share that Hove Gardens is a finalist in the London Construction Awards for the Architectural Design of the Year.
The redevelopment of a former industrial site adjacent to the train station, Hove Gardens has delivered a 216-home urban oasis just a stone’s throw away from Hove’s idyllic seafront. The scheme sets high standards as an exemplar Build-to-rent development and we’re hopeful the positive impact the scheme has had on activating the site and surrounding area is recognised at the awards ceremony.
Architecturally, we have crafted a scheme that seamlessly marries modern aesthetics with the town’s historic charm, with the façade composition derived from the local building typologies within the local area: the narrow, slender forms are evident throughout the wider context and have informed the architectural vernacular of the scheme, which is also carried through into specific details and material choices incorporating buff brick, white stone banding and fluted glazed terracotta accents.
