We are excited to report that Bowler’s Yard residential scheme being developed by Scarborough Group in New Islington, Manchester has received planning permission.
Through a creative and collaborative exchange with Manchester City planning design officers we have designed a landmark building on an irregularly shaped plot that provides 62 spacious new homes. The iconic “zig-zag” roof shape translates into the façade to form integrated balconies and a simple, yet animated elevation that is inspired by the area’s industrial heritage.
The angled façade line also creates a widened aspect for all apartments and ads to the uniqueness of the homes, whilst retaining a high level of efficiency in plan. A double height entrance lobby marks the entrance along Munday Street and creates a feeling of generosity on this otherwise constrained site.
Completion is scheduled for mid-2022.
