We are excited to have submitted a full planning application for HUB’s 488 home Latitude Phase Purple A scheme.
Latitude Phase Purple A sits at the centre of a rapidly emerging quarter of Leeds city centre and will benefit from access to the new elevated park being delivered as part of the adjacent development The Junction; this will provide direct, dedicated pedestrian access into the city. The development will open up to the viaduct to create genuine, vibrant public realm which will be activated with communal amenities at ground floor and will enable commercial uses to inhabit the viaduct arches. The vision is that this public realm will become a destination in itself, sitting at the key intersection of the canal and the elevated park.
The site and wider area have a rich industrial heritage and the architectural resolution is intended to work within this context; a robust material palette has been proposed which is firmly rooted in the Southbank vernacular whilst still being contemporary. The key driver is the creation of a high-quality residential architecture that works with, rather than competing against, the context.
It has been a pleasure to be involved with a fantastic client and design team on this exciting, transformative scheme; we now look forward to planning determination and the next stage of works.
